Description

Standing 51 meters tall, DTB Centre was among the first high-rise buildings in Uganda’s capital city, Kampala, and is, in many ways, a sister building within PDM’s property portfolio to the IPS building in Nairobi, sharing much in character and building techniques. Built in the 1970s, the 14-storey building is a Kampala landmark, set in the heart of the city’s Central Business District.

Like its counterpart IPS Kenya, Its construction used some of the most modern building techniques of the time, including pre-cast units welded onto the concrete structure on a pre-positioned steel framework. Long known as Diamond Trust Building, the building was rebranded to DTB Centre, with a comprehensive makeover that saw it extend the inner walls to cover the balcony areas, creating more inner space, and renaming the building DTB Centre. With a total space of 5,570 square meters, the building hosts the Diamond Trust Bank headquarters and the PDM branch in Uganda amongst other leading local and multi-national organisations.
